Lahaina: My Weekend on the Ground, 60 Days After the Disaster
Part I: Introduction

This initial post provides the context for my trip to Maui and an overview of my time in Lahaina. It is the first of the following 5-part series, which I will be posting over the course of the next 7–10 days:

The Media is not the Media
Shortly after the Lahaina disaster, I wrote that ‘The People of Maui are Being Used by the Media’. But once its masters decided it was time, the media dropped Lahaina like a vampire drops its victim after draining its blood. If corporate media were concerned with serving the public, it would still be steadfastly focussed on Lahaina today given that the tragedy remains ongoing and that government failings and unanswered questions surrounding it are both too many to count.
Yes, with its Lahaina coverage, the media sensationalized other people’s tragedies for profit under the pretext of public interest, but this was not its only cynical motive. It never is. Once one knows the modus operandi, it is easy to see that the media’s highest purpose is to control the narrative and to provide cover for Power. Corporate media and its new big brother, Big Tech, are the propaganda, information control, and censorship arms of our so-called elites, and so it has been with the Lahaina disaster.
To see this agenda at work vis a vis Lahaina, spend just a few short hours researching the independent media coverage on it (see compilation below). Note the hard-hitting articles and opinion pieces you see there. Then, compare them to the softball coverage and controlled ‘uni-voice’ narratives of corporate media. Finally, observe the latter’s complete failure to credibly pursue any of the many obvious lines of inquiry that might lead to government culpability or meaningful investigations into the same. Once one tries to see the patterns and methods at work, they become impossible to miss.
Alas, the media is not the media, and the government is not what it purports to be either. But we knew these things already. Right?
False Flags
Not wanting to jump to conclusions, I did not immediately weigh in on the possibility of Lahaina being another false flag event, like I eventually learned 9/11 definitely was after studying that tragedy in detail for hundreds of hours over many months. Or like the appalling attack on innocent Israelis last week, which now consumes the lion’s share of news certainly appears to have been; not to mention the absolutely horrific attacks on innocent Palestinians that are in all likelihood just getting started.

Returning to the Lahaina story, only 3 days had passed since the Maui fires when I wrote my previous piece on this subject and sufficient information simply was not yet available to credibly to draw a false flag conclusion in my view. But then, the above referenced independent media quickly went to work. In its totality, it did what independent media always does by providing richly detailed and diverse coverage from many different perspectives. Collectively, these stories present a much fuller, more in-depth, and clearer picture than all the dumbed-down sensationalized coverage from all the world’s controlled corporate media combined.
Independent Media
A compilation of independent media outputs on Lahaina can be found immediately below. If you consumed the mainstream media’s sensationalized ‘news’ on Lahaina and then moved on, exactly as the Powers That Should Not Be (PTSNB) intended, then this compilation is for you. If you have not yet seriously considered the possibility that this disaster was no accident and that it might have been state sponsored, then the articles and videos in this compilation offer a chance to escape the government and media induced memory holing exercise that is currently underway and to at least see important parts of the story that we were not meant to see:
The Conspiracy Signature
Available facts speak volumes. Appearances, even more so. In reading and triangulating early independent coverage, it quickly became clear to conspiracy researchers around the world, including yours truly, that the Lahaina disaster has the ‘Conspiracy Signature’ all over it. In an upcoming post, I will expand on the Conspiracy Signature concept as it relates to Lahaina, but many others, without necessarily coining it as such, have already covered it well. You will see traces of it in several of the articles in the independent media compilation above. In any event, conspiracy researchers and others who are wise to the New World Order agenda will already know exactly what I mean.
Gross Negligence - at a Minimum
Even diehard mainstreamers cannot dismiss the obvious fact that the entire Lahaina disaster is rife with questions of gross negligence from beginning to end. From disaster preparedness to the real-time response on through to the dismal lack of support and incredibly poor handling of the post-event phase. “Gross negligence refers to …conduct where an act or failure to act creates an unreasonable risk of harm to another because of the person's failure to exercise slight care or diligence.” Gross negligence is a crime. Therefore, it should be axiomatic that a full accounting of the Lahaina disaster is needed.
It should be equally apparent to all that those in positions of power who failed the people of Lahaina cannot be counted on to investigate themselves. Nor can the controlled media be relied on to do what most of us used to naively presume was its job.
What is needed is nothing short of a mass awakening of everyday people near and far who are willing to take an interest, do their own investigations, and force the issue on the table through peaceful and legal public pressure such that the cumulative effects of our efforts ultimately make ignoring the failings and any related crimes untenable for those in positions of authority. Every single one of us can help make a difference in this. Shock and awe developments elsewhere in the world, no matter how dire, should not be allowed to eclipse the Lahaina story for that would be all too convenient for those PTSNB, and this is exactly what they are banking on.
Going to Lahaina
Despite all the excellent independent media coverage, I still wanted to see Lahaina for myself, in part to put my growing certainty to the test by directly verifying as much as I could of what I had read. On that score, I am pleased to report that I was able to do this on many counts and will go into specific examples later in this series of posts.
In addition to being an amateur conspiracy researcher, I have a long-standing connection to the Hawaiian Islands. I reside in Europe most of the time, but the Big Island of Hawaii, which is adjacent to Maui, has been my US home for over 20 years. I was on the Big Island during the fires, but it did not make sense to travel to Maui then, so I returned to Hawaii again, this time to see Lahaina 60 days after the disaster. I wanted to see first-hand the destruction that I initially suspected and now believe our New World Order psychopaths perpetrated on neighboring Maui.
‘A Conspiracy so Monstrous’
While those of us who are awake to the New World Order conspiracy, wherever we may reside, know that the conspiracy is global in scale and scope, being as remote as we are here on the Hawaiian Islands, there is a tendency to feel safer and less exposed to it. That tendency, or perhaps false sense of security, is certainly being tested now.
For those who do not know what I am talking about or who are scoffing at the idea of a global conspiracy, in spite of everything that the last 3.5 years have shown us, Colin Muskett’s ‘A Conspiracy so Monstrous’ offers an excellent crash course introduction to this subject:
Of course, the best way to see and understand the New World Order agenda is to do the hard legwork yourself through extensive reading across a multitude of interrelated subject matter domains and in doing so come face to face with the conspiracy and the monsters behind it on your own terms. But most people do not have that kind of time, and time is short now.
There are also many other books that do an excellent job of providing readers with a detailed overview, but most are pretty heavy going for those who are new to the subject matter. Muskett’s work on the other hand is a relatively easy place to start. If anyone would like additional recommendations, let me know in the comments and I will be happy to provide them. Likewise, if anyone has recommendations, please share them in the comments.
In Part V, the final instalment of this series, I will examine in greater detail Lahaina and Maui in the context of the New World Order agenda, or the so-called ‘Great Reset’, as it has been rebranded in recent years by the main marketing agency of our globalist psychopaths, the World Economic Forum, in Davos.
Lahaina’s Victims are Still Traumatized -
I should clarify that just like mainstream majorities everywhere, most people on Maui and in Lahaina even will be unaware of false flags, let alone the New World Order global conspiracy that is so often a central topic on this Substack.
There are also amazing people I met in Lahaina who I make reference to in this article and readers should not infer one way or the other whether those people share my views on these subjects. However, I did meet people in Lahaina who do and they confirm that they are not alone in this. Together we speculated about percentages, but could only surmize that it is comparable to the global number, whatever that might be.
However, when it comes to suspecting foul play with respect to the fires, the numbers in Lahaina at least increase dramatically. For the time being, anyway, countless videos of people from Lahaina crying foul can still be found, even on highly censored platforms like TikTok and YouTube of all places. Furthermore, when it comes to government incompetence, views seemingly unite with “everything that possibly could go wrong, did go wrong” and “we are on our own” being common refrains.
However, those most impacted are still heavily traumatized and how could they not be? A doctor acquaintance of mine on the Big Island who is spending weekends working pro bono in Lahaina shared similar observations with me. A fireman I spoke to was as composed and jovial as can be until I asked him about the fires at which point he welled up. He did manage to confirm that they did not have the water they needed and that “all kinds of things went wrong” but I then quickly changed the subject out of respect.
In essence, trauma for many is so severe that reliving it is still too painful, too raw. Therefore, despite some suspecting foul play and many more feeling certain about incompetence, few appear eager to assign blame or seek justice. The prevailing view seems to be that most Lahainans simply want to move on. Most are desperate to find some semblance of normalcy to return to, but many are a long way off from that. In the meantime, they are focussed on healing and on meeting their most fundamental needs, one day at a time.
Coincidences and Smoking Guns -
The totality of conflicts of interest, awful ‘coincidences’, unanswered questions, a flagrant lack of transparency - not to mention accountability, and an utterly unconvincing pursuit of truth on the part of government authorities after the fact are all statistically untenable. I believe these things speak for themselves and that they collectively constitute a smoking gun.
However, I also wanted to see if I could find something that at least to my mind constituted a possible smoking gun in its own right and while I am by no means the first to note it, I believe I may have. In my considered view, a smoking gun can be found by closely examining and generating intense public pressure for authorities to provide a scientific explanation for Kaiāulu o Kupuohi, the affordable apartment building complex on Kupuohi Street in the Lahaina Business Park that was destroyed:
The rubble and free standing elevator shafts you see above are effectively all that remain of the structures in the foreground of this former 4-story complex, with 89 apartments. This concrete based complex was newly built just a few short years ago, so there can be no question about it not being made of modern materials with regulation fire retardants.
While Kaiāulu o Kupuohi has received some coverage in the mainstream and Hawaii state media, it seems to me that this coverage has merely served to gloss over and normalize the destruction in question, when, in fact, there is absolutely nothing remotely “normal” about it.
Aided by my local host, who has special access to the adjacent business park because she ran a business there that was destroyed in the fire, I was able to get relatively close footage of what remains of Kaiāulu. This footage, and my views on why this apartment complex constitutes either a smoking gun or at least something huge that warrants intensive attention and investigation, which it is not getting, will be the main topic in Part II of this series.
Local Relief Efforts -
I also wanted to see for myself an organization on the ground that is playing a major role in relief efforts so that I could promote it with confidence to any friends and readers who might be inclined to help.
Case in point, I had multiple opportunities to visit the Honokōwai Relief Center, which was erected by locals on Honokōwai Beach shortly after the Aug. 8th fire destroyed much of Lahaina. While there I was able to spend time with Kapono Kong, the facility’s head, and others who are giving their time and energy to keeping this critical support center going for locals in need. Many working at the center are also victims who suffered terrible loses in the fires. There is nothing like being in the coalface, as I can now say with confidence that Kapono and his team are heroes who are doing important work in Lahaina:

Linda is an Airbnb host whose listing description, which talked about the disaster, the relief efforts, and the need to bring tourist dollars back to the local economy, called out to me. Linda housed dozens of guests desperately trying to depart Maui and escape the fires safely and she has been heavily involved in various other relief efforts locally since day one. Linda has also spent decades working in the Travel & Leisure industry in Lahaina, so she has a strong local network and is keen to help bring tourism back to the area. Lahaina: A Local Disaster with Global Implications
As you can see below, Maui is still beautiful:
Actually, so are the surrounding parts of Lahaina. As most readers will know, hell on earth visited central Lahaina specifically, and especially the old town. Famous for its natural beauty and historic charm, this area was arguably the crown jewel of Maui and it certainly stood out as special in all of Hawaii for the same reasons:
Central Lahaina had been highly sought after by the powerful and their developers for years, but the land in question was owned by local Hawaiians and the descendants of ethnic immigrants primarily from Tonga and the Philippines who had held on to their relatively modest homes for generations. Despite living on lots which had inflated in some cases to multi-million-dollar values over many decades, these people were not otherwise wealthy. Nevertheless, as a community, they held out against buy-out overtures for years.
For anyone wondering whether independent media reports indicating that the burn zone matches this area with extraordinary precision are accurate, I can confirm that that they are and they do. Furthermore, the ‘Coincidences and Smoking Guns’ section above should resoundingly debunk the half-truth narrative that the old structures in central Lahaina burned because they were made of wood, whereas newer structures were spared because they were built from modern materials and spec’d with fire retardants. But while there is much that is worth querying further on this point, my purpose in bringing it up here is simply to underline just how local this disaster was, and remains.
To put this in perspective, while not the largest Hawaiian island, Maui is still massive. Cities and large towns dispersed throughout orbit the island’s impressive mountain ranges and volcanoes such that one does not have to go very far from Lahaina for the disaster to feel a world away, even on Maui. I stress this because people in Lahaina are still in tremendous need of assistance and government at all levels is comprehensively failing them, so it would be doubly tragic if the rest of the world does, also.
The Lahaina disaster has implications for us all on multiple levels. On one level, egregious government failures, which seem to have no limit and no functioning corrective mechanism, persist with impunity. The impacts of this could therefore have repercussions for any of us, anytime, anywhere. While the Lahaina disaster is both heart wrenching and flagrantly bad, it is only one of numerous government failings in recent years which have destroyed many lives and/or caused many deaths with no accountability. The environmental disaster in Palestine, Ohio, the handling of Covid-19 in its entirety, and the Biden Administration’s chaotic withdraw from America’s misguided war in Afghanistan are but a few such examples that come to mind in recent times.
There must come a point where we ask ourselves: Can this much incompetence really be random, is it by design, or is it something worse? Everything about the New World Order agenda says that it is not random.
On another level, while these same governments are utterly hopeless at managing even their most basic responsibility of protecting their citizens in genuine emergencies, they seem relentlessly focussed on redesigning and controlling every aspect of our lives. (Again, New World Order agenda.) Even if the latter had any moral or lawful basis in democratic society, and it does not, it is incoherent and logically incompatible with the former. Yet the control agenda persists full speed ahead. The UN’s Smart Cities initiative is just one such example of this, but it is particularly relevant to the Lahaina story because Maui was earmarked by the state government years ago to become the first ‘Smart City’ island in Hawaii.
The so-called Smart Sustainable Cities initiative or what is more commonly referred to today as the 15-Minute Cities concept, is billed as a climate solution and an urban planning concept that aims to increase quality of life and reduce planet-heating pollution. In reality, and as I wrote previously here on this page in some detail, So-called Smart Cities are Future Prisons for us All. Smart Cities are already well advanced in totalitarian China, and, exactly as has been long planned, such initiatives have suddenly matasticized all over the developed world in recent years.
Lahaina and Maui at large may well be the canary in the coal mine or a proxy of sorts for Smart Cities everywhere. This is not to say that other cities stand to be physically destroyed as they become “smart”, but rather that the fire that devastated Lahaina (coincidentally) leaves it and Maui at large seriously vulnerable to rapid advancement towards a highly evolved Smart City model, which, like China today, could show us where we are all headed if we do not put a stop to this madness.
The case against Smart Cities can be made ad nauseam but this should not be necessary given the enormous glaring lies that are right in front of us in plain sight. The first relates to the grand lie that the initiative is predicated on, which is that man made Co2 is causing an existential threat to humanity. It category is not. It is a fraudulent lie designed to dupe the world’s people in to ceding all their power to globalist tyrants, but if you think otherwise, please show me the science and first order evidence that supports this in the comments.
The second glaring lie I refer to relates to the way that governmental agencies and politicians pushing the Smart Cities agenda on us NEVER evenhandedly address ANY of the obvious concerns about the fundamental threats that it poses to privacy, to democracy and to human freedom itself, not to mention individual and bodily sovereignty.
It is not as if these concerns are not real and valid. Anyone who doubts this can see an extensive compilation of articles from a multitude of sources detailing them in the supplemental section of my Smart Cities article above. Therefore, this great lie of omission should tell us all we need to know about the motives and trustworthiness of those who have been pushing the Smart Cities initiative on us all in stealth for decades and who are now brazenly pursuing their endgame out in the open without the slightest compunction for the democratic process, or much else, for that matter.
Case in point, shortly after the fires, when I researched Maui’s Smart City history and status, I was able to do so easily. In fact, even Google’s page 1 produced an excellent PDF published by the State of Hawaii from around 2017 detailing almost everything. Now, however, those PTSNB have successfully “flooded the zone” with redirects and disinformation, including from their usual army of ‘Fact Checkers’, the vast majority of whom have to resort to calling those of us questioning things conspiracy theorists. These tactics are nothing new and they are a sure fire sign that we are over the target. Smart Cities and their relevance to both Lahaina and the New World Order conspiracy will be revisited in Part V.
In Closing -
I was successful in achieving most of my goals during my brief time on Maui. I wish I could say this was all down to careful planning and preparation, but the truth is that serendipity played a bigger part. The people I met were amazing, in more ways than I can explain. They made my time on Maui immeasurably more productive than had I been completely unaided.
I hope to stay in touch with them. In any event, I will not forget them.
